Over the 5 weeks of Lent this year, Ian and Liz have led us down the road from the Resurrection, the centre of our Christian faith. The empty tomb, incomprehensible, unexpected, became the basis of the message which acted so powerfully on that initially bewildered group of people.
From disciples to apostles - spreading the message of radical love - they told the story as it was, as they had witnessed it, and now it's our story, to share with others as our relationship with Him deepens.
Then there was the Power, the Spirit with them, and us, to enable us to do just that: deepen our love and widen our giving of it to others, using our individual gifts.
Last but not least, the meal Jesus instituted for us all to share, to remember Him by. Maybe this was the session we entered into most fully as we shared our beliefs and feelings about this very special service.
Not that we didn't share thoughts and ideas in all the sessions: it was meant to be an hour and a half but it was never less than 2 hours as we had so much to learn and to share!
One summary of the 5 weeks might be this: as we accept the love demonstrated by the cross and the life shown by the resurrection, we should take away from the Eucharist the love and the life and spread it round. Do we just Eat In or Take Away?
