You will recall that last year we were asking for volunteers of all ages to help improve the woodland public footpath, known as the ‘The Spinney', from the entrance off Long Causeway through to Tile Lane. The good news is that a number of volunteers have shown interest. We met recently with Abigail Buckle, the Adel Crag Youth Representative, who put forward for consideration some suggestions as to what could be done in the woodland. These include a tree trail, nest box building, litter picking and many more activities for all ages in this beautiful woodland area, to be undertaken in a 2-3 hour period. Parks and Countryside are working in partnership with Adel Crag Community Association.
Our next activity day is on Friday 30th July from 12 noon - 3pm. All those who have already volunteered will receive an official letter of invitation. If anyone else is interested in this fun event, please contact us via our website www.acca.btik.com, where you can also keep up with all developments and events. Please note that all under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
