As usual, school is a very busy place, lots of familiar activities but also some which years ago would never have of happened. One of these was "Sam's Safari". The Reception Class children had opportunities to hold or just observe.lots of 'minibeasts' .Every child was given the opportunity to hold an Arizona King snake, but not surprisingly, not all took the opportunity , and amazingly, not all the staff held it either!

Another opportunity for new experience has come in the form of "Budo Kai". The instructor,
Mrs Deanne Musharbash, made the comment that the children from our school were polite, bright and a real delight to teach. Anyone wishing to see what a Budo Kai session entails can key in 'Budo Kai Leeds' and watch Mrs Musharbash on YouTube.

Exciting news is that, thanks to terrific fund-raising from our tireless PTA, we are now able to enhance our computer equipment which will greatly benefit every single pupil.
On the subject of Internet Safety, Mrs Turner recently drew the parents' attention to the need to install a filtering system in their home computers, so ultimately it is the parent who chooses which sites the child is allowed to visit.

One of the staff, Hilary Podd, having two years ago, as a single person, adopted a daughter , has decided to devote her time to being a mum. We wish her and her little girl well.

World Cup Fever of course has hit the school and on 16th June the children came to school in the colours of the country their class was representing. They have used the World Cup as a vehicle to draw attention to education in other parts of the world, and plan to petition parliament to promote the education of primary children throughout the world. Pupil voice in our school is very important and they are so aware of what goes on in the world and continue to amaze us with their innovative ideas .
They even produced a Year 6 Charity World Cup magazine, costing £1, which was on sale during the Inter-House Football Tournament. All four teams showed skill and determination, and at the half-way point the boys were slightly ahead of the girls, showing the combination of a will to win with great sporting attitude......come on girls, now its your turn to show the boys how its done!

Year 5 and 6 are performing Robin Hood on 13th and 14th July.
Best wishes to all the children moving on to High School in September.
School closes for the Summer Holidays on 23rd July.
Thought for the week "Let's Promote Education for All"
