Both lectures are held at 3pm. in Thorpe Prebend House, High St. Agnes Gate.

York Gate - Volunteers required
York Gate Garden opens on Sunday 3rd April and we are looking for one or two more volunteers to help on open days during the season. Duties include welcoming visitors, serving teas and selling gifts. We are looking for people who can offer at least one session per month (April - September) and preferably an extra session or two to cover bank holiday weekends and evenings in June. Most sessions are from 1.45pm - 5.15pm.
Opening Times 2011: April - September: Thursdays and Sundays, 2pm - 5pm BH weekends (April, May & August): Sunday and Monday, 11am - 5pm Evenings: 15th, 21st & 29th June, 6.30pm - 9pm
We will be holding a special Candlelight Evening on Friday 19th August - details to follow.

At the 3pm Crib Service I was sitting with my family, including our latest addition, 6 month old Olivia ( great-granddaughter). I realized it was the start of Christmas 2010 for me.
Children certainly help us to appreciate the real meaning of this special occasion, and there was no shortage of them that afternoon. Most of them (I think) joined in with the re-enaction of the birth of baby Jesus. The tree and decorations certainly helped to bring the service to life.
This year our beautiful church was filled to capacity-a wonderful tribute to our clergy , along with their helpers. Marjorie Baylis
